YOUNG DIVERS TAKE TO THE BOARDS AT THE QUAYS
02 Apr 2007 16:21

Young divers Daniel Goodfellow, Hannah Starling and Clare Cryan dominated their respective age-group events at the ASA National Age Group Championships in Southampton this weekend.

Cambridge Dive Team’s Goodfellow took gold in all of his events - the 1m and 3m Springboard (10/11yrs) the Platform which was open to divers aged 9-11.

He added a bronze in the Boys 8-13yrs 1m Synchro where he partnered Southampton’s Ryan Studwick.

Northern duo Startling (City of Leeds) and Cryan (City of Sheffield) also did the same treble in their respective age groups. Starling’s victories came in the 12/13yrs group, with Cryan taking the honours in the 14/15 yrs age band.

Introduced last year for young British divers that are not currently on a British Swimming development programme, the ASA National Age Group Championships are an excellent opportunity for the divers to develop their skills and to gain valuable experience of competition level diving.
