The individual events resumed on day 6 of the World Masters Champiopnships at Stanford, California, starting with the Womens 200m Breaststroke. Jennifer Merrit (Spondon) and Karen Jackson (Northampton) each added a 3rd Gold medal to their tally with wins in the 55-59yrs and 30-34yrs age groups, with times of 3:11.88 and 2:47.84 respectively. Diane Ford (Spencer) claimed her 2nd Gold medal with a new British Record of 3:22.24 in the 60-64yrs age group, Helen Jenkins (Southport) was 3rd in 3:28.96. Jane O'Brien (Oundle & Dist) claimed a silver medal in the 45-49yrs age group in 3:06.43.
In the Mens 200m Breaststroke Tom Walker (Chester) claimed silver in the 70-74yrs age group in a new British Record of 3:14.78. Graham Pearson (Hadrian) set a new British Record for the 50-54yrs age group with 2:48.41.
In the Mens 100m Backstroke, Cliff Ward (Stockton) set a new British Record of 1:32.48 in the 75-79yrs age group, and Stuart Mantle (British Armed Forces) claimed silver with a time of 1:03.59. Janet Brown (Spencer) claimed bronze medal in the Womens 65-69yrs age group with a time of 1:35.56.
The 200m Butterfly event saw Derek Parr (Otter) taking gold in the Men 60-64yrs age group with a new British Record of 2:46.06. David Cumming (Sussex Marletts) took silver in the 65-69yrs age group with 3:16.40. In the Womens event Nicola Latty (Oundle & Dist) set a new British Record in the 35-39 yrs age group with a time of 2:28.02 to give ther the Bronze medal. Judy Wilson (Heart of England) claimed Silver in the 60-64yrs age group with a time of 3:21.68.
