Everyday Swim coordinators and stakeholders were in London this week to receive updates on the initiatives’ progress.
Coordinators from the programmes already underway and those that have joined the team this year met at the Sport England offices to share best practice information and consider the next steps for Everyday Swim.

Everyday Swim is a pioneering initiative set to break down the barriers to swimming and pool-based activities. With each area focussing on different barriers to swimming, Everyday Swim aims to provide meaningful data and best practice examples to be shared countrywide.
Led by the Amateur Swimming Association, Everyday Swim is funded nationally by Sport England and receives local funding from local partners.
Projects are already underway in Telford & Wrekin, Woking, Easington and Suffolk, with four more planned for Lewisham, Islington, Kirklees and the Wirral.
ASA Swimming Activity Manager Kate Sargant coordinated the day and was delighted with its success, with all involved sharing positive examples and picking up new ideas.
“This was this first time we’ve been able to get all the coordinators and local partners together to share information and celebrate achievements,” she said. “Each of the projects has a different focus and is at a different stage of development, so the day provided a great opportunity to share best practise. Everyone has gone away enthused and ready to take their project to the next level.”
