MEW RECEIVES UNIVERSITY AWARD

Double Olympian Darren Mew received a Full Blue at the University of Bath's annual Blues Awards ceremony.
 
The 27-year-old breaststroke received the award from Professor Glynis Breakwell, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bath, at the ceremony at Bath's historic Assembly Rooms.
 
Full Blues are awarded to University of Bath students who have made outstanding sporting contributions at an international level.
 
Mew, who is studying Sports Performance at the University of Bath represented Great Britain at the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games. He swam for Team England at the last three Commonwealth Games, accumulating two silver and two bronze medals.
 
Fellow University of Bath swimmers Lee Forster and New Zealander Cameron Gibson were also recipients of Honorary Blues at the ceremony, while there were Half Blues for Chris Cozens, Dan Hester, Karen Lee, Sarah Paton, Stefano Razeto, Nathan Renshaw and Te Rena Taite.  Fellow swimmers Stefanie Biller, Cecelia Razeto, Guy Sherwin and Richard Webb were awarded Colours.
