Adele Carlsen has taken up her new role as Technical Programmes Manager within British Synchro to provide athletes with greater support in the run up to the Olympics in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
Former British International Carlsen stepped down as Head Coach to make way for the more experienced Biz Price, who has worked as National Coach for Canada and in a consultancy role for Spain, China and New Zealand, and took up the role as National Performance Director at the beginning of the year.
Carlsen’s new role includes helping centralise the sport, manage the High Performance Centre at Aldershot, provide one-to-one athlete support and fulfil the role of Team Manager during international events.
With the recent results at the FINA World Championships British Synchro has already shown signs of improvement and with the new team in place Carlsen believes that the future looks good for the growing sport.
“It is a really exciting time to be involved within British Synchro,” she said. “The sport has progressed so much in the past three months. The girls performed really well in the World Championships and I am really proud to have been a part of that.
“I have been working with Biz for the past three months now and I believe that we make a good team. In my new role I am working alongside her to help in the centralisation of the British Synchro, which is going to help the sport to grow and improve ready for London 2012.”
