ONE WEEK LEFT TO WIN SWIM TIME AT THE MAC
25 May 2007 15:41

There is now just one week left for swimming clubs across the country to take advantage of a special offer which could see their club getting free training time during the 9th FINA World Swimming Championships in Manchester next year.

Every club making group bookings of ten or more tickets for the championships before midnight on the 31st May will be contacted to answer a series of questions.

Clubs answering all the questions correctly will then be entered into a draw and ten lucky clubs will get their hands on exclusive ‘swim-time’. The winners will be announced on June 20th. (For full competition terms and conditions go to www.manchester2008.com).

Former World Swimming Champion James Hickman who is heading up the PR for this event, believes the competition offers a brilliant opportunity for clubs to train at a world-class facility.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for clubs to get the chance to train in the world famous Manchester Aquatics Centre,” he said. “The very venue in which so many great medals were won in the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Tickets are selling well amongst the British swimming family so for the best seats to see the action book your tickets now.”

Details of all the different ticket options including the fabulous weekender ticket that allows you to see all four weekend sessions are available at www.manchester2008.com/tickets.

The 9th FINA World Swimming Championships will be held at the M.E.N Arena from the 9th to 13th April 2008 and it promises to be a swimming event like no other the UK has ever seen.

Project Director Peter Knowles says: “Two huge temporary pools are to be built in the world’s busiest concert venue. It’s going to be quite something and we’re determined to turn it into ‘sporting theatre’ like never before.

“UK swimming clubs won’t want to miss this event and now we’re giving them an extra incentive – a chance to train for 90 minutes in the fabulous Manchester Aquatics Centre, a pool that’s been graced by the likes of Ian Thorpe and Grant Hackett.”

For club group bookings call 0871 230 9864 or on line at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
