BRITISH SWIMMERS IN LONDON PARADE

Fifteen of Britain’s swimming medalists boasting a combined haul of 14 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze medals from this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games will take part in a parade in London to honor their achievements.

The swimmers, including Olympians Steve Parry and David Davies, Paralympic multi-medalists Jim Anderson, Nyree Lewis, Sascha Kindred and Natalie Jones and Olympic diving silver medalists Peter Waterfield and Leon Taylor will join 45 other Olympic medalists as well as a large number of Paralympic achievers in the Parade of Heroes, which takes place on Monday October 18.

The athletes will participate on five sports themed floats dressed in their team tracksuits and will be wearing their Olympic and Paralympic medals.

The Parade of the Heroes starts from outside the Ritz on Piccadilly at 1.30pm on October 18 and will travel to Piccadilly Circus before turning down Haymarket and into Trafalgar Square, arriving around 2.20pm.

A celebration will take place in Trafalgar Square from 1.00pm finishing around 3.00pm which will feature live footage of the Parade, highlights from the Olympic and Paralympic Games and interviews with athletes from Games past and present. The event will also be shown live on BBC.
