EUROPEAN WATER POLO ROLES UP FOR GRABS

British Water Polo is looking to recruit numerous volunteers to help successfully stage the LEN European B Men’s Water Polo Championships from 8 - 15 July 2007 in Manchester.

Great Britain has a tremendous international reputation for hosting top level Water Polo events and is looking to recruit volunteers who would not only like to assist in the organisation and delivery of the 2007 Championships, but gain valuable experience in preparation for the many events that are being planned for up to and beyond London 2012.

The following areas are currently highlighted for immediate recruitment:

Stewards
To provide general assistance to the organisers, managers and attendees in a variety of positions (including balcony, front of house, ticketing and administration)

Hospitality/VIP Manager*
To be responsible for staffing of VIP area, organisation of refreshments for VIP area

Technical Officials*
Table Officials and Goal Judges (Must be a registered member of the ASA)

Pool Side Stewards
To assist Play Zone managers, act as Ball Boys/Girls, runners for media manager and admin staff.

Technical Assistants
Required to assist OMEGA engineers and train with them on the operation of the main scoreboard and timing equipment.  This role is envisaged for longer term and a willingness and ability to assist with future Water Polo events is essential.

How to apply
By sending a letter detailing the position you wish to volunteer for, any previous related experience that would assist you in this role, your contact numbers and your level of availability and commitment to future events to Charlotte O'Neill - ASA by 20th December 2006.

Volunteers are not required to have a water polo history but a willingness to take responsibility, work within a well established team, uphold British Swimmings' values and provide a positive contribution to British Water Polo are essential.

All these positions are voluntary however successful applicants will receive Event Uniform, and meal allowance. Positions marked * may also be provided with accommodation.
