GENERAL INFORMATION

First sporting success:
Winning the Gloucester Counties 100m backstroke in the national qualifying time when I was twelve

Finest sporting moment: Being selected for the Olympic Games in 2004

Tip for the top: Dedication and hard work can make dreams turn into reality. Also believe in yourself

First GB selection year: Junior - 1998  Senior - 2002

Sporting heroes: Many in various Sports

Closest friends in sport: All my training group at Loughborough

Favourite sport other than swimming: Athletics

Three words that best describe you: Kind, dedicated and determined

Most prized possession: Photo albums, especially the ones from the Olympics in Athens (2004)

Biggest influence on career: Not being able to swim or to even be able to put my arm above my head due to injury made me realise how much I wanted to swim and swim well

Toughest opponent: Katy Sexton

Biggest passion away from swimming: Bargain hunting!

Biggest disappointment: I got injured three days before having to swim in Athens. It didn't stop me competing though

Favourite venue and why: Ponds Forge, Sheffield because I swim well there

Tips to relax: Watch T.V or listen to music and think of nothing. Sleep is the best!

Education: I've have a degree in Human Biology

Family: My mum is called Linda and she is a nurse. My dad is called Michael but I'm not sure what his job is! I also have an older sister called Rachael and she works in a nursery

Ultimate ambition: To win a medal at the Olympic Games

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: It depends on what opportunities I get and what path I decide to take.
