GENERAL INFORMATION

First sporting success:
Winning at my school swimming gala when I was 5

Finest sporting moment: Winning two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games (2006)

Tip for the top: Enjoy what you love doing. Keep going and never give up

First GB selection year: 2004

Sporting heroes: Firstly my Dad, Steve Redgrave and Ian Black - he was my head teacher and a swimmer. He was the youngest person to ever win Sports Personality of the Year.

Closest friend in sport: Ross Davenport

Favourite sport other than swimming: I enjoy playing and watching golf

Three words that best describe you: Cool, calm and collected

Would most like to meet: My great granddad who was a very successful businessman back in the day!

Most prized possession: My ipod

Biggest influence on career: Ian Black (1956 Olympian and former headmaster). My dad has also been a big influence on me

Any family connections in sport: My dad was a British Champion skier. My mum was county district table tennis champion too!

Biggest passion away from swimming: Properly developing

How do you prepare to race: I prepare by trying to stay relaxed

Biggest disappointment: I was dropped from the 4x200m Freestyle relay team in Athens

Favourite venue and why: Manchester Aquatics Centre because I have had quite a bit of success there and my first major meet was there too

Family: My mum is called Jean and she's a professional mother! My dad is called Peter and he is a Jeweller. I have a brother and sister called Angus and Malena

Ultimate ambition: To be happy and successful

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Not swimming, probably living in Aberdeen and being a successful businessman!
