GENERAL INFORMATION

Finest sporting moment:
Winning a bronze medal at the 2006 European Championships

Tip for the top: Set your goals, be realistic and stay optimistic

First GB selection year: 2004

Closest friends in sport: All the swimmers that I train with

Other sporting successes: When I was 10-years-old I got a bronze medal in the interschoolastic long jump competition!

Favourite sport other than swimming: Any ball sport

Three words that best describe you: Manic, excitable and lazy

Would most like to meet: Peter Kay

Most prized possession: The watch my girlfriend bought me for Christmas

Biggest influence on career: All the coaches that I have had through my career

Toughest opponent: Slovamir Kuczco

Favourite venue: Ponds Forge, Sheffield

Biggest passion away from swimming: I like listening to music, particularly the Frutellis and I enjoy reading James Patterson books

How do you prepare to go out and race: To prepare I think about all of the hard training I have done prior to the event, this gives me confidence. I also check through my training log book for all the positives I have achieved in training and I clear all doubts from my mind

Biggest disappointment: Coming 4th in my individual race at the Commonwealth Games (2006)

Education: I graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Sports Science and Psychology

Ultimate ambition: To get an Olympic medal

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Possibly still swimming, if not then I think I'll be doing something with a link to swimming, probably not coaching though
