PERSONAL:

First sporting success: Being the Hampshire 10 & under Champion

Finest sporting moment: At the 2001 National Age Groups I pulled myself up from 4th place in figures to 1st place in the 12 & under solo event. It meant so much to me - I even got an excited hug from Adele

First GB selection year: 2005

Tip for the top: You have to be driven and want something so bad that you are willing to make sacrifices. Have a determined and positive attitude and never lose sight of your goal. Swim because you want to, not because you have to

How did you get involved with synchro: My parents knew Edna Russell and she said I should start after finding out I liked messing around under water

Sporting heroes: Virginie Didieu & Paula Radcliffe

Closest friends in sport: Jenna Randall and Louise Woolley

Favourite sport other than synchro: Surfing or rounders

Three words that best describe you: Bright, strong and driven

Would most like to meet: Nelson Mandela

Most prized possession: My journal

Biggest influence on your career: Adele Carlsen

Favorite venue and why: Wigan, because it's a really nice pool to swim in and it doesn't feel really hot and claustrophobic like other pools - it has a really open feel

Tips to relax: Take a hot bath (with lots of bubbles). Listen to lots of good music. Get a long massage.

Ultimate ambition: To go to the Commonwealths in 2006 and the Olympics in 2008

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Out of University and at the start of my career in medicine
