GENERAL INFORMATION

First sporting success:
My first win at the age of 10, when I won the 50m Freestyle at my club championships.

Finest sporting moment: Swimming my best times at the Olympic trials after I had broken a bone in my wrist two months prior to them. I was devastated when I was told I had a broken bone. All my emotions came out and I simply brokedown

Tip for the top: You have to take everything that's offered to you because things change and opportunities do not always come round a second time.

First GB selection year: 2002

Sporting heroes: Alex Popov, Ian Thorpe and Matt Biondi

Closest friend in sport: Lyndon Ferns

Favourite sport other than swimming: Tennis, snooker and pool

Three words that best describe you: Determined, conscientious and ambitious

Biggest influence on career: My coach Bob Pay without a doubt

Would most like to meet: Harry Hill and Michael Jordan

Most prized possession: My laptop

Toughest opponent: Myself. If I'm disciplined enough to do as well and give as much as I can in everything I do, then I won't have any opponents

Favourite venue and why: Ponds Forge, Sheffield because I qualified for the Olympics (2004) there after injury and swam some great times. I went under 50 seconds for the first time ever in the 100m freestyle there

Tips to relax: Don't think about anything stressful and try not to think about not thinking about it

Favourite films: Leon, Superman I and II and all of the Star Wars releases

Education: I'm studying business at the University of Arizona

Would most like to be remembered: As a tough competitor

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Still thinking of an answer to this question
