First sporting success: At ten I won a silver medal at the Yorkshire Championships on the 50m Breaststroke, from lane 8! Outside smoker!

Finest sporting moment: Coming sixth at the European Championships (2006) in the 200m Breaststroke

How do you prepare to go out and race: I do a lot of mental preparation

Biggest disappointment: Not getting to the Commonwealth Games in 2006

Favourite venue and why: The mighty Ponds Forge, You can't beat home turf

Family: My mum is called Liz and works at secondary school, my dad's called Alan works as a prison officer and is also the head coach of Rotherham swimming club and my brother is called Daniel and has just finished a computer science degree

Ultimate ambition: To go to the Olympics

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Coaching and to have an Olympic gold medal shining on my mantel piece!
