MAIN FEATURE

Julia gets a ‘Dunkin’ – Swimathon launch
She’s already known as one of television’s most versatile presenter’s but this month Julia Bradbury will add swimming to a CV which already embraces everything from Wainwright’s Walks to flying with the Red Arrows.  Julia, who co-hosts the BBC’s Watchdog programme with Nicky Campbell, will join more than 20,000 other swimmers who are expected to take part in Swimathon, the nationwide charity swim which is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year.

She and her sister, Gina Fox, who is also her agent, are hoping to achieve the 5km target distance as a two-person relay team at a pool in London.

Julia, whose latest TV series Wainwright’s Walks was due to begin on BBC4 on February 25, said she was particularly attracted by the selection of Marie Curie Cancer Care, the main beneficiary of this year’s Swimathon.  The charity provides free, high-quality nursing care to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
