MAIN FEATURE
Champions of Britain – Water polo championships

The weekend after Valentine’s Day, the teams from Division One of the National Water Polo League met in Manchester to compete for semi-final places in the GB Championships 2007, to be held the following weekend.  The pool was divided into A and B areas.

The first match in area A saw Lancaster – winners of both the NWPL and GB champs for the past few years – go up again Rotherham Metro.

Lancaster started strongly with top scorers Tom Curwen and Scott Carpenter making their presence felt from the outset.  Rotherham held firm until the third quarter, when they conceded five goals.  Despite a fourth quarter fight back from Rotherham, Lancaster won 14-6.
