march 2007 blog

My preparation for British Championships are going well and I’m feeling fresh.

I’ve still been keeping on top of my core stability program and I’m feeling confident and strong in the water.

My aims for Manchester are to win the 200m and 400m Freestyle and to improve my times, and try and gain a top 16 in the world ranking in the 400m Freestyle.

february 2007 blog

This month has been all about preparation and training for the British Championships at the end of March. My aims for this are to move into the top 16 in the world. I have made many alterations to help me achieve this mainly outside the pool.
They are:

1) Increased number of gym sessions from 3 to 6. And instead of lifting weights i have been doing circuits and focussing on my core stability which is weak. My racing will benefit from these changes

2) I have also had meetings with a nutritionist to talk about how I can fulfil my full potential with the right diet and ensure that when resting before a big meet, I don’t put weight on

3) I am also looking to move to Loughborough so I’m closer to the pool and would use the money from Kellogg’s to pay for rent

january 2007 blog

In the month of January I have got back into training after the Christmas break.

I have a new land programme which consists of going to the gym six times a week straight after my morning session, and doing circuits.
