Sarah began her career as a junior in 2003 and as well as diving, says gymnastics is one of her passions.  Born in Plymouth, she still trains there today and cites both her parents and coach Andy Banks as the biggest influences on her career.

Her finest sporting moment was winning gold at the British Championships and subsequently qualifying for the Commonwealth Games 2006, where Sarah finished fourth in the 10m synchro event.  She also came 10th in the 10m platform dive and hopes to better this by making it to the final of the next Olympic Games.

april 2007 blog

I
went to Zhuhai in China in the middle of April. I got a PB of 319.50 in the 10m Individual Platform, a performance I was very pleased with as I performed my new dive - a back 3 1/2 somersaults off the 10m platform.

I went through to the semi-finals and being in a tough round, i finished in 6th place and did not go through to the final even though I got a higher score than some of the divers in the second semi-final.

It is just by chance that you get put in a semi-final that is slightly tougher than the other. In the prelims, positions 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 go through to semi A and positions 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 go in semi B. I
finished 11th in the preliminary round and 8th overall.

I also had a good performance in the 10m synchro event with my partner Monique McCarroll where we scored 303.18. We came in 3rd place and got a bronze medal. China was a very nice pool and I enjoyed the trip.

I have just come back from Montreal in Canada competing again in the 10m individual and 10m synchro. I did not have a great performance in the preliminary round but just scraped through to the semi-final, hoping to improve my performance to get into the final.

I started the semi with a good, positive dive but then had a major error on my second dive, and knew from then on that I wouldn't be able to push back to get into the final. The remaining dives well and got a score of 279.95 which I was pleased with considering I did a bad 207c.

My synchro partner and myself dived well with a score of 282.06 and came in 6th position.

I am now training for the Grand Prix in June to be held in Madrid, Spain. I am competing individually and also performing the synchro event with Rebecca Gallantree on the 10m platform.

march 2007 blog

This I’m off to China on the 8th April to compete at the Grand Prix in Zhuhai. I compete on Friday 13th! I am performing a 10m synchro with my partner Monique McCarroll and I am also doing 10m Individual the next day.

This past month I have just been training hard and working on my new dive - 207c from 10m. I will compete this for the first time in China which is very exciting. I have had a back injury this month which put me out for a couple of days but its on the mend and I am back into training ready for China at the end of the week!

febraury 2007 blog

I went to a 2012 training camp at the start of the month in Sheffield. The coaches tested our ability to do a list of dives and various exercises in the gym.

I also did a lot of back 3 1/2's tucked in the rig. I have recently put up that dive on 10m, which is now my newest dive. I will next be competing that in the China Grand Prix in April.

I have been off ill for the last couple of weeks and some of our pool is out of use so I have just been getting back into hard land training but easier pool training.
