GENERAL INFORMATION

Favourite event: To swim; 400m I.M, but to watch the 200m Freestyle.

Finest ever performance/Why: Commonwealth Games in Melbourne 2006 where I won two silver medals, one as part of Scotland’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay team, the other in the 400m I.M. The amount of Scottish success in the pool made it a great event to compete in.

First senior international meet: The World University Games in 2005.

Role models: David Wilkie

My aspirations are: To reach my potential

Tip for the top: To relax and stay focused on your goals.

Life after swimming: We’ll wait and see!

Music: Johnny Cash

If I wasn’t a swimmer I would be a: Not sure. Certainly would be involved in Sport in some capacity.

Football, Cricket or Rugby: Rugby

Describe yourself in three words: Relaxed / Determined / Free-flowing

Would most like to meet: My Grandad

Most prized possession: My swimming bag. It’s the only one I’ve ever had. I was given it when I started swimming about 20 years ago. It’s looking a bit old now!

Biggest influence on career: Previous coaches Joyce Waddel, Doug Campbell and Ian Turner.

Sporting relations: My dad had a land-speed record once
