september 2007 blog

At the beginning of September I went on holiday to Puerto Banus which was a very nice relaxing break off swimming.

Got back into the pool three weeks ago which has been tough and I have ran out of Crunchy Nut which doesn't help with having to get up at 5am and there being none there!

So my main aim this month has been to get back up to full fitness and I'm nearly there and looking forward to going to Australia for six weeks in October.

august 2007 blog

At the start of August I travelled out to Osaka in Japan where the holding camp for oOympics is going to be.

It was interesting to see the Japanese culture and investigate how were going to go about things next year.

After Osaka we got the Bullet Train to Tokyo to swim in the international swim meet in Chiba. I competed in the butterfly and freestyle.

I didn't swim as quick as in British Championships but I learned a number of things. This will be a good learning experience for next year's Olympics.

After that I have been on a 3-week break stopping off in Beijing on the way home to see the Olympic pool and all the sights like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.

july 2007 blog

This month has been quite hectic as I moved house and was in it for four days before having to go to Sheffield for the ASA National Championships.

I was quite pleased with how I competed as I finally broke the 100m Freestyle British record, breaking the 50m Butterfly on the same night was an added bonus.

However as the week unfoleded I got abit ill so wasn't fully satisfied with my 200m I.M but luckily I will have another go at it next month when I fly to Japan to swim in the Japan Open meet which should be an enjoyable experience.

june 2007 blog

The past few months have been exrtemely busy foir me.

I have been to the World Championships and swam reasonably well coming 4th in the 4x100m Medley relay was probably the highlight of my meet then straight from Melbourne I flew over to Perth to swim in the Australian Age Group Championships where I broke the British record on the 100m Freestyle.

I came home and the next weekend took part in the Speedo League B final which my team City of Liverpool won and amoungst all this I recieved a brand new mini on my birthday from Choice
Finance company which I was really greatfull for and now just need to learn how to drive it!!

february 2007 blog (written by Fran's Dad)

Fran is currently in Australia until 16th April. She is completing her final preparations for the World Championships. This will include some outdoor 50m training and a taper into the event itself. She is competing in the 50m and 100m Freestyle, the I.M. relay and the 4x100m Freestyle relay. There is a good chance she will compete in the 4x200m Freestyle relay also.

After the Worlds she will be going to Perth to compete in the Australian Age Group Championships to try some other events whilst in a tapered condition. The Australians have adopted a clever process to ensure the English girls have no chance of winning... they are not allowed to compete in the finals!
