MAIN FEATURE

Docklands double – Open water festival
It’s not often that you hear Britain’s National Anthem played twice in as many minutes at an international swimming event but Alan Bircher and Cassie Patten prompted just such a musical duplication on a London dockside.

The weather was an appropriately British mix of sunny spells, summer showers and the occasional downpour as first Bircher, then Patten won the first of this year’s LEN European Cup 5km races.
