Or complete the international permit and forward it to internationalpermit@swimming.org
ARE you taking part in a competition or training abroad? … if so you need permission from British Swimming.
Members, groups of members or affiliated clubs wishing to compete, officiate, coach or train in countries outside Great Britain must apply for permission to do so by completing an International Permit and Clearance Form which can be obtained from www.britishswimming.org or from the ASA Customer Services Department 0871 200 0928. Please remember to apply for an International Permit at least 28 days before leaving the country.
And if you representing Great Britain or your Home Country internationally or competing in a British Swimming, ASA, SASA or WASA National event then you also need to complete a Medical Declaration Form this requirement does not apply if a Masters event. (See below for further information)
Doping Control… In the past Athletes have been entered into competitions abroad without having sent a current medical declaration form and without notifying the British Swimming Doping Compliance Officer in advance. The reason advance notification is necessary is in order to determine if any Athlete needs a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) as without one an Athlete who is tested runs the risk of receiving a positive doping test. This is of concern as British Swimming has overall responsibility for regulating doping control in all the disciplines of the sport of swimming.
Medical Declaration Form - Anyone representing Great Britain or their Home Country internationally or competing in a British Swimming ASA, SASA or WASA National event (all disciplines, excluding masters) and taking medication whether prescribed by a Doctor or purchased from a pharmacy or other retail outlet is also required to declare these details to British Swimming by completing a Medication Declaration Form. (Please note a new medical declaration form MUST be completed annually even if the medication prescribed has not been altered or if no medication is being taken and whenever the medication is changed) This form can be ordered from renewals@swimming.org or by calling 01509 61872.
