GENERAL INFORMATION

Favourite Event: 400m freestyle

Finest ever performance/Why: Winning gold in the S8 400m Freestyle in Beijing with a new world record time. My first Paralympic Games!

First senior international meet: Danish Open 2006

Role models: The whole of the British Gas team!

My aspirations are: To win more Paralympic medals and to be the best that I can be.

Tip for the top: Always work hard to the best of your ability. Believe in yourself and never give up. Follow your dreams!

Life after swimming: To work in media.

Music: I listen to absolutely everything. Nobody has got a wider range of music on their I-pod than me.

If I wasn‘t a swimmer I would be: A musician

Describe yourself in three words: Hardworking, ambitious and focussed.

Would most like to meet: Metallica

Most prized possession: My bed, my car, my ipod...and my gold medal!

Biggest influence on career: My family and my coach.

Sporting Relations: It’s a sporty family. My brother used to play football and he swims at Midland level. My mum used to swim. My dad is very musical.
