Dan Wallace became world champion in 2015 after winning the 4x200m Freestyle relay in Kazan after becoming 400m Individual Medley Commonwealth Champion in 2014.
Wallace (Scotland) had a strong second outing at a World Championships in Kazan, Russia, being part of the winning men’s 4x200m Freestyle relay time as well as securing to further individual final berths. He was also a multi-medallist at the 2015 domestic championships with a gold in the 400m Individual Medley in London.
In 2014, competing in front of a home crowd for Scotland at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Wallace set a British record to win 400m Individual Medley gold, then added 200m Individual Medley silver and a second silver with the 4x200m Freestyle Relay quartet.
Wallace broke onto the senior international stage in 2013, after medalling in both medley events at the British Champs he qualified for his debut World Championships in Barcelona. He reached the 400m Individual Medley final before clocking a Scottish record to finish seventh.
A move to the USA’s University of Florida to train under Gregg Troy came in 2012 and that same year he competed and made two finals at his first British Championships at the London Aquatics Centre. Dan also mark his presence known stateside after securing a bronze in the 400m IM at the NCAA Championships.
Dan Wallace emerged as future talent back in 2010 after qualifying for the European Junior Championships that year. He made the EJC team again in 2011 and medalled twice with a 200m Individual Medley silver and 400m Individual Medley bronze.
