Dan Wallace became an Olympic silver medallist in 2016 after playing his part in the Men's 4x200 Freestyle relay quartet at the Rio Olympic Games.
Following time away from the pool in 2017, Wallace returned to the pool for his second Commonwealth Games down under and returned a double bronze medal after being part of the Scottish Men's 4x100m and 4x200m Freestyle Relays. He finished sixth in the 200m Indiviidual Medley event.
The 2016 British Swimming Championships saw him win bronze in the 400 Individual Medley and demonstrated to the selectors his was ready to make his Olympic debut.
Wallace (Scotland) had a strong second outing at a World Championships in Kazan, Russia, being part of the winning men’s 4x200m Freestyle relay time as well as securing to further individual final berths. He was also a multi-medallist at the 2015 domestic championships with a gold in the 400m Individual Medley in London.
In 2014, competing in front of a home crowd for Scotland at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Wallace set a British record to win 400m Individual Medley gold, then added 200m Individual Medley silver and a second silver with the 4x200m Freestyle Relay quartet.
Wallace broke onto the senior international stage in 2013, after medalling in both medley events at the British Champs he qualified for his debut World Championships in Barcelona. He reached the 400m Individual Medley final before clocking a Scottish record to finish seventh.
Dan Wallace emerged as future talent back in 2010 after qualifying for the European Junior Championships that year. He made the EJC team again in 2011 and medalled twice with a 200m Individual Medley silver and 400m Individual Medley bronze.
