Canet Double for Carlin

Bath-based swimmer Jazz Carlin closed the second leg of the Mare Nostrum Swim series in Canet with two gold medals.

Carlin delivered her second podium topping performance on the final day of competition in Canet after touching home first in the Women's 400m Freestyle.

She finished ahead of the multi European Champion Katinka Hosszu of Hungary and bronze went to France's Coralie Balmy. 

On day one Carlin delivered a dominant swim to claim the victory and gold in the Women’s 800m Freestyle as she returned to competitive action following her silver medal in the same event at the LEN European Aquatics Championships in London.

The world bronze medallist was joined on the podium by Sharon Van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands and Tjasa Oder, Slovenia.

James Guy also featured on the podium in Canet as he touched second in the Men’s 400m Freestyle behind Russia’s Aleksandr Kransnykh.

Devon Myles Brown of South Africa completed the eight laps of the pool in third behind Kransnykh and Guy.
