British Swimming Head Coach Bill Furniss collected his OBE from the Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace yesterday after being recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Furniss was awarded his after leading athletes and coaching staff to Great Britain’s most successful swimming performance at an Olympics for more than 100m years in Rio last year.
Commenting on his OBE, Furniss said: “It is a massive honour but is one I feel should be shared due to the progress made by British Swimming in the last four years under the leadership of National Performance Director Chris Spice and myself.”
