Have you bought your tickets for Glasgow 2018 yet?

If not Hannah Miley, who won a Commonwealth Gold for Scotland at the Tollcross pool, has urged fans to come along to a session and cheer along their favourite swimmers.

The 28-year-old even gave swimming newcomers a taste of what to expect at the Glasgow 2018 event.

She said: “If you are going to the European Championships for the first time there are lots of things you can expect.

“The atmosphere is always great because the crowd is a lot bigger than normal.

“The energy from the athletes will be high – you’ll see them really strutting around on poolside. And there’s just an amazing vibe.

“The standard is really high, especially across the British team, which means there will be some really close finals.”

The Aberdeen based medley specialist also spoke about her own personal experience of competing in front of a Scottish crowd.

She added: “I’m really looking forward to being in front of a home crowd – the noise, the energy just isn’t something you get to experience that often, there’ll be people up on their feet screaming and shouting for their favourites.

“One of the best things for me is hearing the crowd when your name is announced to come out. And the atmosphere when you are behind the blocks is something you don’t really get to experience that often.

“So please, come and shout as loud as you can because it really makes a difference!”
