Promising swims on day one in Windsor

Britain’s Hannah Miley narrowly missed out on a medal on the opening day of the FINA World Championships (25m) in Windsor, Canada when she finished fourth in the 400m Individual Medley.

Stephen Milne was ranked eighth at the close of the Men’s 400m freestyle final while a stand out swim for Mark Szaranek saw him qualify second fastest for the Men’s 200m individual medley final in a personal best time of 1:54.45. He eventually finished sixth in the final.

In the Women’s 100m Backstroke the both Georgia Davies and Kathleen Dawson eased through the semi-finals to book their places in the final later today (7 Dec). Dawson set a new PB in the process of 57.03.

Twelve British Swimmers were in action on day one with seven progressing through to semi-finals and finals.
