Swimmers excel in the Bahamas

The swimmers competing at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas have won a total of 15 medals on the first two days of competition. 

Layla Black has made history after becoming the first ever Team England athlete to win gold at two consecutive Commonwealth Youth Games, she defended her 200m Breaststroke title.

Scotland’s Scott Mclay has won two golds and a silver with him leading the way in the 50m Butterfly and the 100m Freestyle. His silver came in the 100m Backstroke.

England’s Lily Boseley won the 50m Backstroke having earlier won silver in the 100m Backstroke.

Wales’ best performance has come from Medi Eira Harris who took silver in the 50m Backstroke.
