Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen kept the British Diving World Aquatics Championship medal momentum moving as they secured Women's 3m Synchro bronze at the end of a hard-fought final that even featured a dramatic redive.
Yasmin and Scarlett had already wrapped up the GB Olympic quota spot in this event when they dived to a historic silver at last summer's World Championships in Fukuoka - but they were still targeting a podium finish to back up that Fukuoka silverware in Doha.
After laying down two solid required dives in the opening rounds, the British duo were faced with a challenging moment in round three, when at the start of their synchronised advance down the springboards, a short burst of music in the arena led to a redive being required.
Harper and Mew Jensen quickly composed themselves after getting out of the pool, and a repeat of their Forward 2 1/2 Somersaults 1 Twist (5152B) scored them 63.90 to keep them third.
Their highest-scoring dive of the competition came in round four, when 65.01 points for their Forward 3 1/2 Somersaults Pike (107B) helped maintain their standing. And while, by their own admission, their closing dive was a slight drop on the other optional scores, it was solid enough to finish on 281.70 points and ensure back-to-back global podiums for Yasmin and Scarlett in the women's springboard synchro event, a remarkable achievement given last year's Worlds was their first major event together as a pair.
"We are both extremely proud of each other, and obviously so thankful for our coaches and how we have pushed through since World Champs last year. We knew we were capable of it today, but to have it actually happen, it's unreal really," said Scarlett.
"Obviously the ultimate goal is to be Olympic medallists, and doing what we did today has, in my mind anyway, just solidified that it is actually really possible. Not that I didn't think it before!"
Reflecting on the redive in round three, Yasmin added: "Honestly, I don't know about Scarlett, but my legs were shaking for that one! But to come away with a better-scoring dive, it was well worth it, so we were happy with that.

"We are super hopeful [ahead of Paris 2024], and I think we've put ourselves in a great position to go to Paris. It's on my mind all the time, I am really excited, looking forward to it, to see what the journey has for us."
Earlier in the day, Ross Haslam made sure of Team GB's second quota spot in the Men's 3m Springboard contest for the Olympic Games by booking safe passage to the event's final in Doha.
The City of Sheffield athlete was again composed throughout his list to close on 427 points, enough for fifth in the semi-finals and checking in that GB quota spot, adding to the one secured at last summer's World Championships by Dan Goodfellow.
