Home Nation Meet Choice

6 Dec 2016

As part of the Domestic Competition Structure review British Swimming implemented a system to allow swimmers to be invited to the end of season domestic meets on the basis of country of international representation as opposed to the default country of their ranked club.

British Swimming will again be opening a window from 1st January 2017 for athletes wishing to indicate their Home Nation choice for the end of season summer meets.

All swimmers should note that when identifying qualifiers for the Home Nations meets, the system will assume that athletes wish to be ranked by the country of their ranked club.

If swimmers wish instead to be invited on the basis of country of representation then individuals must email HNMeetChoice@swimming.org with their name, date of birth, membership number, and current ranked club and registered Country of representation, and then clearly state their wish to be ranked by their Country of International Representation in relation to the Home Nation Summer Meets. This needs to be done no later than midnight on 1st May 2017.

Anyone who notified us of a change to the default in either 2015 or 2016 does not need to do this again this year.

Athletes can check their ranked club and country of international representation via our Home Nation Check page.

The 2017 British Summer Championships will be held from 25th to 30th July at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
