FINA has today announced that due to the unstable and unpredictable situation in the region, the FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships that were due to take place from 28-30 August in Eilat, Israel, will be cancelled.
FINA has said this exceptional decision was taken due to "concern from various FINA National Member Federations related to the security of their athletes and officials".
It is hoped the competition will take place in September in a new location which will be announced in due course.
