Matthew Redfern came out of competitive retirement to achieve his first senior selection for Great Britain as a part of the newly included Mixed 4x100m 49 Point Relays at the Madeira 2022 World Para Swimming Championships.
Matthew, the older brother of Becky Redfern, competes in the S13 classification and secured a relay consideration time at the 2022 selection trials in Aberdeen. The Worcester SC athlete developed his international racing experience at the Berlin World Series event in March before before heading to the Madeira World Para Swimming Championships in June.
