The Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympics are a major international multi-sport event that takes place every four years for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee.
Postponed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Tokyo 2020 will feature 540 events across 22 sports.
To date Great Britain has won 681 medals in the pool at Paralympic Games, with swimming the most successful sport for ParalympicsGB at the latest edition, Rio 2016. The swimming team brought home 47 medals (16 gold, 16 silver & 15 bronze) from Brazil, GB’s highest ever total.
