Will Ellard

2025 has been a medal-laden season for William Ellard, with performances at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships translating to eye-catching results at this summer’s world championships. Having burst out of the blocks in Singapore with a new Men’s S14 200m Freestyle world record and a brilliant S14 100m Backstroke bronze, the Nick Thompson coached-swimmer contributed to further golds in the Mixed S14 4x100m Freestyle and Medley relays before concluding his campaign with a clutch victory in the Men’s S14 100m Butterfly.

Poppy Maskill

Aquatics GB Performance Centre Manchester

Poppy Maskill delivered an outstanding return of five gold medals from Singapore 2025 - winning three individual medals and providing her talents to the world championship title winning Mixed S14 4x100m Freestyle and Medley relay quartets. After opening her individual medal account with Women’s S14 200m Freestyle victory on day one, Poppy then led home an all-British Women’s S14 100m Backstroke podium before rounding out her third senior world championships at pace with a new world record mark in the Women’s S14 100m Butterfly.

Faye Rogers

University of Aberdeen

Having heavily populated the new honours board at the London Aquatics Centre with a host of new British, European and World records during the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London, Faye Rogers then swept up a gold and four silvers in a successful outing at the World Para Swimming Championships. Taking home a world title in the Women’s S10 400m Freestyle was a major season highlight alongside her progression in an event not on the schedule in Singapore – with her Women’s S10 200m Butterfly world records achieved in 2025 now quicker than she was swimming prior to acquiring her impairment.

Bruce Dee

Northampton Swimming Club

Bruce has pushed on his performances greatly in the 12 months since his Paralympic debut at Paris 2024 – setting a new British record in the Men’s SB6 100m Breaststroke and a lifetime best in the Men’s S6 400m Freestyle as he continually threatens to break into individual medal contention on the world stage. In Singapore his contribution to the Mixed 34pts 4x100m Medley relay team was rewarded with a first senior global medal as the quartet produced a new British record to claim silver.

Astrid Carroll

Stockport Metro

Astrid has enjoyed a breakout year, debuting at her first World Para Swimming Championships in 2025. Having been selected to the team based on performances at the Aquatic GB Next Gen Championships, the Stockport Metro-swimmer set a new lifetime best in the Women’s S12 100m Backstroke to earn bronze in her opening event of Singapore 2025, before going one better for silver in the Women’s SB12 100m Breaststroke with another personal best swim on the world stage.

Ela Letton-Jones

Nofio Gwynedd

2025 has been a brilliant year for Ela, with the Nofio Gwynedd-swimmer featuring in three finals on the world championships stage after earning her first senior international call up this summer. Having started her Singapore 2025 programme with an impressive lifetime best swim for silver in the Women’s S12 100m Backstroke, Ela continued momentum across the meet with a personal best time in the S12 100m Freestyle, while delivering a season’s best swim as she contested up a classification in the SM13 200m Individual Medley.

Ric Howard

Bolton Metro

A pair of Ric Howard’s Bolton Metro-stable made their mark in 2025, with Georgia Sheffield returning to the British team to win back-to-back World Para Swimming Championships bronzes in the Women’s S14 100m Backstroke, before contributing to the retention of the Mixed S14 4x100m Freestyle crown – while Mark Tompsett lowered his British record in the Men’s S14 100m Backstroke at the Aquatics Gb Swimming Championships to book his place at Singapore 2025 and further his experience of top-tier global competition.

Patrick Miley

University of Aberdeen

Patrick Miley has been a key figure in the corner of Faye Rogers, as the University of Aberdeen swimmer prepared for her successful Singapore world championships campaign – where she was victorious in the Women’s S10 400m Freestyle, in addition to collecting a further four silver medals. Under Patrick’s tutelage, Rogers has reset her own British records numerous times across five events in 2025, with her S10 200m Butterfly world record now quicker than she was swimming prior to acquiring her impairment.

Nick Thompson

Norwich Swans/Aquatics GB Performance Centre Manchester

Under Nick Thompson’s guidance Will Ellard has continued to top the podium at a world level, achieving four golds and a bronze in Singapore. Their close working relationship at Norwich Swan Swimming Club has continued into Nick’s new role at the Aquatics GB Performance Centre Manchester, with Will again delivering his best come the benchmark meet of the season – evidenced by a world record swim in the Men’s S14 200m Freestyle final and a lifetime best in the Men’s S14 100m Butterfly for individual golds on the opening and closing day of the world championships.
