Brits win team trophy in Amsterdam

The British Gas GBR Diving Team came home from the 7 Nations Youth Diving Meet in Amsterdam with nine medals including three golds and the overall team trophy.

Matthew Dixon, Katherine Torrance and the pair of James Heatly and Sam Thornton came away with the gold medals around their neck after impressing through the weekend.

Dixon scored his gold in the boys’ B 3m Springboard with a score of 438.80 while Torrance secured gold in the girls’ A 1m Springboard after scoring 380.85.

Heatly and Thornton took the top step on the podium of the boys’ A/B 3m Synchro with a total of 290.16.

The team also won three silver medals and three bronzes. Millie Hafferty won her silver in the girls’ 1m Springboard with a total of 297.80 which followed on from her bronze in the B 3m Springboard.

Torrance teamed up with Lydia Rosenthall to claim silver in the girls’ A/B 3m Synchro with a total of 263.04. Rosenthall also claimed bronze in 1m Springboard with 365.15 points.

In the boys’ 3m Springboard Heatly and Thornton came away with silver and bronze respectively. Heatly took silver with 491.15 points while Thornton took bronze with 487.15 points.
