Jack Laugher and Chris Mears won their first medal with a 3m Synchro bronze at the 2014 FINA/NVC Diving World Series in Moscow today.
It was only the second time the pair had competed together on the international stage, having secured fourth in London last week.
Scoring a total of 421.71 points they finished ahead of World Bronze medallists Rommel Pacheco and Jahir Ocampo from Mexico who finished in fifth.
The Russian pairing of Evgeny Kuznetsov and Illya Zakharov took gold and China’s world champions He Chong and Qin Kai took silver.
In a repeat of their London performance, Laugher and Mears' top score came from the Front 4½ Somersaults Tucked which gained them 87.78 points.
But the pair also improved on their Reverse 2½ Somersaults 1½ Twist in Pike position dive scoring 82.17 points.
The performance gives 19-year old Laugher his first FINA Diving World Series medal.
In the 10m Synchro Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow finished fifth in the women’s competition with 297.42 points, while Dan Goodfellow and Matty Lee finished seventh in the men’s competition with 361.26 points.
