Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow reached their third consecutive World Championship 10m Synchro final with a solid prelim performance in Kazan.
The Commonwealth silver medallists scored 302.52 for their five dives to place fourth overall with the top 12 progressing.
China’s Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia led the way on 330.24 with Canada’s Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion second on 313.26 and Malaysia’s Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Leong Mun Yee third on 311.04.
And having finished fourth and fifth at the 2011 and 2013 World Championships respectively, the British girls will have their sights set on the podium once again in Russia.
"That was quite steady for us," said Barrow. "We have dived better and hopefully we'll be able to dive better in the final."
Couch added: "We just need to sharpen up a few things and hopefully get a little bit more on the requireds but I'm pretty pleased with the performance."
Couch and Barrow started strongly enough with 98.40 after their two optional dives before scores of 66.24 and 63 for their inward 3 ½ with tuck and forward 3 ½ piked respectively.
The Brits raised their level for their final dive, scoring 74.88 for their back 2 ½ somersaults, 1 ½ twists to finish on a high note and consolidate their fourth place.
