The British Diving Team has signed off from the European Diving Championships in Rostock, Germany having shown their promise to finish in fifth place in the oevrall Championships Team Trophy.
The team won silver in the women’s 10m Synchro with a impressive performance from Georgia Ward and Robyn Birch.
In the men’s Springboard, Freddie Woodward competed in both finals as the youngest competitor and showed him maturity to finish in 11th place on 3m and 12th on 1m. He teamed up with Jack Haslam to finish sixth in the Synchro with a score of 372.39.
As a junior, Matty Lee found himself competing in the 10m Platform alongside reigning European Champion and world silver medallist Victor Minibaev (Russia) and 2013 European silver medallist Martin Wolfram (Germany).
Lee put in a mature performance to finish seventh with a score of 443.65. He later competed with James Denny to take fifth place in the 10m Synchro with 400.44 points.
In the women’s Springboard, Grace Reid took fifth place in the 1m Springboard after scoring 264.50 which is the best placing for a British diver in 15 years. She also finished 11th in the 3m Springbaord with a total of 264.30.
Synchro specialist Alicia Blagg gained valuable experience in the individual event with a ninth place finish in the final and a score of 275.50.
