Gallantree and Starling secure fifth in Shanghai

Rebecca Gallantree and Hannah Starling finished in fifth place in the 3m Synchro at the FINA World Cup in Shanghai.

The pair, who train together at the City of Leeds, were competing together for the first time at a major international competition, having won bronze on their first outing at the Diving World Series leg in London earlier this season.

Gallantree and Starling finished in third place in the prelim with an impressive performance as they clocked a score of 299.19.

They scored well throughout the final but moved down to fifth place after dropping some marks on their Front 3½ Somersaults piked.

They finished with a score of 296.85 and moved the British 3m Synchro pairing up from sixth place in the world.
