Promising performance in Puerto Rico

The British Gas GBR Diving Team competing at the FINA Grand Prix in Puerto Rico showed their potential with three top six finishes.

Freddie Woodward led the team’s performances through the five day competition by finishing just outside of the medals in the 3m Springboard and 3m Synchro.

Woodward, who was competing in his first senior international competition, qualified for the final in the 3m after finishing third in his semi final with a score of 381.40. The City of Sheffield diver bettered his performance in the final with a total of 399.10.

In the Synchro he teamed up with club-mate Nick Robinson-Baker and the pair scored a total of 346.35 to just miss the medals.

Robyn Birch also impressed in the 10m Platform after qualifying for her first final and she finished in sixth place with a score of 296.80.
