Matty Lee and Daniel Goodfellow continued their run of medals with bronze in 10m Synchro at the FINA/NVC Diving World Series in Dubai.
Lee and Goodfellow, who scored their first bronze in Beijing in the first leg of the series, put in another mature performance in Dubai.
Their best dive was their first optional dive which was the Inward 3 ½ Somersaults tucked which scored them 80.64 points.
They secured the bronze with a total score of 380.52 with Patrick Hausding and Sascha Klein (GER) winning silver with 437.76 points. And gold going to China’s Cao Yuan and Lin Yue in 475.32 points.
“We are over the moon with getting our second bronze," Lee said. "We weren’t expecting medals when we first came out here but after the first leg we thought there was potential for more in Dubai.
“There was a bit more pressure on second leg after we’d got the first bronze but we just needed to concentrate and stay focussed. Now I’m excited for London and competing in front of a home crowd. I loved that pool during the Olympics so can’t wait to dive from those boards.
“It felt amazing to win the bronze again" Goodfellow said. "This is our first comp together and it’s going really well. It’s been hard to train synchro because we are so far away but we’ve put in two consistent lists now and what is really positive is that there is room for improvement.
“We can add more DD to the list and if we work on our last two dives I know that they will get us more points too."
Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow continued their return to competition with a fifth place finish in the women’s 10m Synchro. They scored a total of 293.22.
