Britain’s marathon swimmers continued their preparations towards this summer’s World Championships in Kazan with a two-medal haul from the Abu Dhabi leg of the FINA Marathon World Cup.
Jack Burnell (National Centre, Loughborough) took an impressive silver in the Men's 10km event, with Loughborough team mate Dan Fogg less than a second off the medals in fourth, and Keri-anne Payne (Warrender) added bronze to her international collection in the Women's 10km race.
The squad of six athletes used the event as an opportunity to race at the midway point of a selection process to determine which athletes qualify for this year’s World Championships in Kazan.
The British athletes who competed in Abu Dhabi are:
Jack Burnell - National Centre, Loughborough
Tom Allen – Swim Swansea
Dan Fogg – National Centre, Loughborough
