Dawson tops podium on Day Four

European medallist Kathleen Dawson (Warrington Warriors) powered to victory which saw her claim 200m Backstroke gold on day four in Sheffield.

Dawson dominated the final from the outset after setting the standard in this morning's heats session to place her in lane four.

City of Manchester’s Jessica Fullalove took silver and Charlotte Evans of Loughborough University bronze, and joined Dawson on the podium in Sheffield.

Bath University swimmer Charlie Attwood clinched the victory in the Men’s 19+ yrears 200m Breaststroke final. He nudged Luke Davies (City of Birmingham) into silver and Kieren Preston (Edinburgh University) went home with bronze.

In the 17/18 years final Edward Baxter (Cockermouth) delivered a controlled swim as he eased himself into the gold medal position in Sheffield. Hatfield’s Nathan Hughes came from behind in the 16 years final to claim British Summer Championship gold.

In a race that went to the touch, Kyle Booth (City of Cardiff) came out on top and claimed the 15-years national honour in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke. City of Leicester’s William Bell made an early break and distanced himself from the rest of field to win gold in the 13/14 years age group final.

Lucy Hope (Edinburgh University) topped the podium in the Women’s 19+ years 100m Freestyle final. Second place finisher was Harriett Cooper (City of Derby) and third was Anna Hopkin (Bath University).

West Lothian swimmer Gulsum Onal clinched the victory in the 17/18 years 100m Freestyle at the touch. Anna Maine (Woking) carried through her form from the heats to take the touch and stopped the clock first for gold in the 16 years medal decider.

A dominant swim by Freya Anderson of Ellesmere College Titans saw her pull away from the rest of the field and bag herself the gold in the Women’s 15-years 100m FreestlyeKaylee Dekker (Mount Kelly College) snatched the victory and went home with gold in the 13/14 years final.

Paralympic Champion S8 Oliver Hynd (Nova Centurion) demonstrated his true class as he stormed to victory in the Men’s MC 200m Individual Medley. A points total of 951 secured him the British Summer Champs gold in Sheffield.

The silver was collected by Sascha Kindred (City of Hereford) with 917 points and bronze went to Beckenham’s Kahoru Harazawa with a points total of 860.

Eleanor Simmonds(S6) (National Performance Centre) continued to show form as she prepares for the Rio 2016 Paralympics with gold in the Women’s MC 200m Individual Medley, 916 points confirmed the win.

S9 Amy Marren (Romford Town) was the silver medallist, a total of 838 points for her and bronze went to Northumbria University’s Harriet Lee (S10); 811 points.

A day of dominant swims for Loughborough University’s Adam Barrett, he converted his heats win into a gold medal in the Men’s 19+ years 100m Butterfly final.

He finished ahead of City of Sunderland swimmer Adam Taylor and Sean Campsie of Stirling Swimming.

Kregor Zirk (Plymouth Leander) came from behind to hit the wall first and take the win in the 17/18 years 100m Butterfly final. Poole’s Jacob Peter takes the win in the 16 years final.

Sam Dailey (Plymouth Leander) led the field from start to finish in the 15 years final of the Men’s 100m Butterfly and claimed the title. In the final of the 13/14 years age group Charlie Hutchinson of Ellesmere College Titans is the man on top after two laps of the Ponds Forge pool.

Nova Centurion swimmer Rosie Rudin owned the 17/18 years final of the Women’s 200m Backstroke, she pulled away from her fellow finalists and claimed centre spot on the podium.

Tazmin Pugh (Ellesmere College Titans) was victorious over the four laps of the Women 16 years 200m Backstroke, she touched first to take gold.

Heart of Midlothian swimmer Alexandra Waller, stepped onto the podium again, she collected gold for the Women’s 15 years 200m Backstroke.

A third gold of the 2016 Summer Championships went to Tia Ward (City of Leeds), she topped the podium in the 13/14 years age group final.

City of Sunderland swimmer Matthew Wylie (S9) was first to stop the clock which saw him post a points total of 902 in the Men’s MC 50m Freestyle and took the gold medal.

Silver for Ryan Crouch (S9) of Team Ipswich concluded his swim with 832 points and bronze went to City of Derby’s Lewis White (S9) with 810 points.

Over in the Women’s MC 50m Freestyle, Hannah Russell (S12) of City of Manchester Aquatics left the rest of the line up in her wake as she stormed to victory, a gold and 974 points.

Russell finished ahead of Stephanie Millward (S8) of Corsham with 935 points and Northampton’s Eleanor Robinson (S6) with 917 points.

The day four finals session was rounded off by to exciting relay finals. The quartet from Hatfield were victorious in the Men’s 14/16 years 800m Free Team event.

In the 17+ year’s event the team from City of Sheffield secured a home pool win in an emphatic finale to the session’s action.
