World Champion Francesca Halsall returned to the Tollcross International Swimming Centre for her second event of the British Swimming Championships securing herself a final berth in the Women’s 50m Freestyle.
The National Centre Loughborough swimmer demonstrated her class dominating her heat as she looks to claim her 11th British title in the event.
Bath University’s Anna Hopkin and Lauren Quigley (Stockport Metro) head into the final in second and third respectively.
Ben Proud (Plymouth Leander) controlled his heat in the Men’s 100m Freestyle touching first with a comfortable swim, booking himself a place in tonight’s final. He’ll be joined by University of Stirling swimmers Duncan Scott and Robbie Renwick.
Swansea Aquatics’ Alys Thomas finished top of the overall rankings for the Women’s 200m Butterfly to book herself a lane four berth for this evening’s final.
National Centre Bath swimmer Jemma Lowe finished top in her heat and Aimee Willmott (London Aquatics) delivered a strong swim, both will also feature in the final in search of the 2016 title.
The Men’s 400m Individual Medley final is set up to provide a spectacle of swimming in this evening’s final session. Max Litchfield (City of Sheffield) put in a strong heats performance to pull away from the field and placing himself as the top ranked competitor in the final.
Roberto Pavoni (Loughborough University) and Lewis Smith (University of Stirling) will also feature alongside Litchfield.
