Two-time Olympian and Doha 2024 world bronze medallist, Hector Pardoe placed 25th in the Men’s 10km Marathon Swimming event in Singapore.
The world championship open water action was cleared to get underway on Wednesday 16th July with the Men’s 10km race the first to line up on the starting pontoon.
Hector Pardoe, who was competing at his fourth consecutive World Aquatic Championships, dived in for Great Britain to take on the course which ran 1.67 kilometers through Palawan Beach, Sentosa - with swimmers completing the rectangular loop six times to cover the full distance.
As the two hours of swimming progressed, Pardoe was unable to get a get a firm foothold within the race. A push during the earlier stages of the fourth lap took the 24-year-old just inside the top ten, before dropping back through the field back to finish 25th overall amongst the 78-strong athlete field.
With his racing schedule completed in Singapore, Pardoe’s plans now align to taking on a world record attempt of the ‘Three Lakes Challenge’, swimming across Loch Lomond, Lake Windermere and Lake Bala inside 24 hours on Saturday 2nd August 2025.
