Chris Mears has been diving alongside Jack Laugher since Commonwealth Games in 2014 when they won the gold medal and the pair have not looked back.
It was this summer’s Games that really stood out for Chris though as he took to the top of the podium in the 3m Synchro with Jack after storming to a huge victory in Rio. Earlier in the season Chris won his first European gold medal after securing victory in the 3m Synchro with Jack at the home Championships in London. The pair now hold medals at every level of competition.
The winner of the Diving Athlete of the Year award is decided by our panel of judges and will announced during the British Swimming Awards in London on 5 November.
