British Swimming is delighted to announce that BBC Sport will be providing live coverage of all of the finals sessions at the British National Diving Cup, which takes place in Plymouth from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 February.
With coverage available through a smart TV or via the BBC Sport website, BBC Sport app and iPlayer, sport fans will be able to see all the action from the season opening diving event, where the likes of Tom Daley, Jack Laugher and Grace Reid will all be in action.
As part of the live coverage, British Swimming will be launching its new aquatics-based show called ‘Deep End Live’, aimed at enhancing the streaming of its domestic events in 2019. Spanning swimming, diving and para-swimming, Deep End Live will bring the audience closer to the action with the opportunity to directly engage with the athletes in a new purpose built studio.
The new show, which will debut on 1 February, is set to include live athlete interviews, expert analysis, audience interaction, plus live Q&As via social media. We’ll also see athlete head-to-head games, testing how well they know their teammates and their sport.
From expert commentators (Bob Ballard and Olympic champion Chris Mears will be taking up the reigns in Plymouth) right through to studio guests, British Swimming want to offer a viewing experience that’s never been seen before at aquatics events. In between the action our aquatics stars will be popping into the studio, whilst post event there will be real time updates from all of the winners as they discuss their performances and where we’ll be seeing them next; for most it will be the FINA Diving World Series in London this May.
