Brits dominate 3m Prelims

Day four of the European Diving Championships opened with the Men's 3m Prelims and British divers Jack Laugher and Dan Goodfellow dominated the session finishing second and third respectively.

Laugher was the better placed Brit throughout all six rounds of diving, with his highest scoring dive coming in the penultimate round, a Forward 4 1/2 Somersaults Tucked scored 89.30. His final score was 467.55 and means he will be start seven in this afternoon's final.

"It was an ok prelims with steady diving, I've left plenty room for improvement and I'll be looking to come back make an impact later," said Laugher.

Teammate and fellow Leeds-based diver, Goodfellow completed his list with just over 50 less points that Laugher. Goodfellow secured his high ranking prelims finish after his Back 3 1/2 Somersaults Tucked which earnt him a solid 81.00 points in the fifth round of competition.

Both British men will return to the boards of the Royal Commonwealth Pool this afternoon to contest for the medals and the European title.
