Silver for Mears and Laugher in Russia

Chris Mears and Jack Laugher secured their third 3m Synchro silver medal of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series in Kazan. 

The first day of the third leg of the Series also saw Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow win bronze in the 10m Synchro. 

The Olympic Champions, Mears and Laugher, were within the medal standings after the required dives and showed their strength to move into second position for the final two rounds. 

Mears and Laugher saved their best two dives until last as they scored 91.26 points for their Front 2 1/2 Somersaults Triple Twists Piked and ended the competition with 87.78 points for their Front 4 1/2 Somersaults Tucked. 

They won silver with a total score of 420.42. China's Cao Yuan and Xie Siyi won gold with a score of 458.82 with Ilia Zakharov and Evgenii Kuznetsov (Russia) taking bronze with 376.83.

In the 10m Syncho, the Olympic bronze medallists sat in a medal position after the first two rounds and continued to dive consistently to  secure their third place finish. 

Their best dive was the Reverse 3 1/2 Somersaults Tucked which scored 80.58 points.

Their final score was 406.38 and Germany's Patrick Hausding and Sascha Klein won silver with 408.54 and China's Aisen Chen and Hao Yang won gold after scoring 462.57.
